Glowglobes[]

  • Glowglobe: Another practical use of the Holtzman Effect was the invention of the glowglobe, which produced light as an energy by-product of a small Holtzman field generator.

Is there a citation for glowglobes "producing light as an energy by-product of a small Holtzman field generator"? Wasn't the Holtzman generator involved only in the creation of the suspensor field? -SandChigger 16:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

  • SandChigger is right. The Glowglobe isn't produced by Holtzman Effect, but by some organic's (Dune). Lisan Al-Gaib 20:25, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
    • I don't know about the light emitting technology, however the suspensor ability clearly derives from Holtzman. I am restoring the reference back. MoffRebus 23:08, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
      • GLOWGLOBE: suspensor-buoyed illuminating device, self-powered (usually by

organic batteries).

The Glowglobe is powered by organic batteries, the light production isn't related to the Holtzman effect. But you are half-right, the suspensor ability derives from the HE. Lisan Al-Gaib 23:45, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
