The Selamik is an enormous hall that makes even the large Noukker guards seem small, but a trick of the fancy architecture focuses attention on the Imperial Golden Lion Throne sitting on a raised dais at the north end of the gigantic throne room, making it and its occupant, the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe seem larger than life on Kaitain.
Fluted columns along the walls stretch up to the high, vaulted ceilings, which are colorfully decorated with frescoes of past battlefield victories. Between the columns hang the long, tapered battle standards of the personal commanders who fought for the Imperial House Corrino in the Battle of Corrin (and afterward became the Dukes, Counts, and Barons).
