Ravan was a scientist who in 14491 AG investigated the region near planet Seban.
The cruiser carrying Ravan and his investigation team experienced a temporary propulsion system failure, bringing them closer to Canopus than anyone had been before.
Ravan observed and recorded a slender thread of coronal material spiraling upward along distorted magnetic-field lines and was awestruck when it became clear that the coronal thread was originating from a brilliant, small white object and that the material flow was not upward but downward toward Canopus. That was the discovery of Canopus B, the white hole, transferring mass and energy to Canopus.
