Hassik Corrino III was a Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe. During his reign, the Imperium's capitol and House Corrino homeworld of Salusa Secundus was laid to waste by an atomic catastrophe by a renegade family, House Tantor. He managed relocated the Imperial Golden Lion Throne to Kaitain and turned Salusa Secundus into an exiled prison planet.

The Imperial Observatory had been built by Hassik Corrino III.[1] A builder of many grand edifices, "Hassik Corrino III had wanted to show that even after the near obliteration of the Imperial House Corrino, the Imperium and its business would continue at a more exalted level than ever before." The Hassik Corrino III Center for the Performing Arts was built by him, or named after him. In order to rebuild this governmental infrastructure, Hassik Corrino III had taxed his subjects nearly into bankruptcy.

The Golden Lion Throne itself had been carved from a single piece of a pale blue-green Hagal quartz, the largest such gem ever found.

Hassik was the first person to be entombed in the Imperial Necropolis, the large catacombs beneath the Imperial Opal Palace in Corrinth City, the capital city of Kaitain.
