Ecaz was the fourth Planet orbiting Alpha Centauri B.

The planet was the source of Fogwood, apparently favoured by artists because it could be shaped solely by human thought.

Semuta, a highly addictive narcotic, was favoured by many in the Old Imperium. It was sourced from elacca wood, a native plant of Ecaz. Other drugs originating from Ecaz include the truth serum verite, and the elacca drug.

Ecaz was also a planet that was captured by the Honored Matres at some time before the death of the Great Honored Matre called Dama.
