A Crown Prince was the son of a Padishah Emperor and his Empress Consort, and the recognized heir apparent to the Golden Lion Throne. The title was historically only held by members of the Corrino Empire.
The three most famous Crown Prince examples were:
- Raphael Corrino I, who held the title for several decades, but had his title was never withdrawn due to his late father, Indriss Corrino I's leadership on the planet Kaitain.
- Fafnir Corrino I (10,0092 A.G. to 10,138 A.G.), the third-eldest recognized son of the 80th Padishah Emperor Elrood Corrino IX by his third wife, the Empress Alexandra Ecaz. Fafnir briefly held the title of Crown Prince before his suspicious death on Kaitain.
- Shaddam Corrino IV, the youngest son of the 80th Padishah Emperor Elrood Corrino IX by his first wife, Empress Barbara Mutelli and raised in adoption by his father's fourth wife, Empress Habla. Upon Elrood's death he rose to become the next Padishah Emperor.
